# Schedule

> Set when and how the collony bot is active, with timezone support and 30-minute slot precision.

The Schedule page controls when the bot is active and what it does during each time block. Use it to run full moderation 24/7, limit AI chat responses to peak hours, or go security-only overnight.

## Bot Enabled

The master toggle. When off, the bot is completely inactive regardless of the schedule. When on, it follows the schedule you've painted.

## Timezone

Set this first. Choose the timezone that matches your community's primary location - the schedule grid displays in that timezone. The current UTC time is shown next to the selector for reference. All blocks are stored in UTC internally and converted for display.

## Modes

Each time block on the schedule can be set to one of three modes:

| Mode | What the bot does |
| ------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Chat + Security** | Full operation - moderation, AI chat responses, FAQ answers, emoji reactions |
| **Security only** | Moderation runs, but the bot does not respond to messages or engage in chat |
| **Inactive** | Bot is off for that block |

## Setting a schedule

1. Set your **Timezone** first.
2. Select a mode from the legend (Security only / Chat + Security / Inactive).
3. Click and drag on the weekly grid to paint time blocks. Slots are 30 minutes each.
4. Click a day label to fill the entire day with the selected mode.
5. Click an hour label to fill that hour across all days.
6. Click **Save changes**. Unsaved changes are flagged - clicking away without saving discards them.

<Tip>
A common setup: Chat + Security during peak hours, Security only overnight, Inactive during planned maintenance windows. This keeps scam protection running 24/7 while reducing unnecessary bot activity when no one's around to engage.

## Weekly summary

Below the grid, a weekly summary shows the total hours allocated to each mode for the current schedule.
