# Projects

> Add collony to a Telegram group or Discord server and configure it as a project.

A **project** is a community or group that you want collony to protect. Each project maps to one or more connected channels across Telegram and Discord, and has its own configuration, rules, and analytics.

The Projects page lists all your active projects and any channels the bot has joined but not yet been assigned to a project.

## Add the bot to Telegram

1. From the Projects page, click **+ Add bot → Add to Telegram**.
2. Add @CollonyBot as an administrator to your group with these permissions: **delete messages, restrict members, pin messages**.
3. The group appears under **Unconfigured channels**. Click **Configure** to assign it to a new or existing project.

<Warning>
  collony requires delete messages, restrict members, and pin messages admin rights to operate. Without these, moderation actions will fail silently.
</Warning>

## Add the bot to Discord

1. From the Projects page, click **+ Add bot → Add to Discord**.
2. Complete the OAuth authorization flow - select the server and confirm the permissions.
3. The server appears under **Unconfigured channels**. Click **Configure** to assign it to a project.

## Unconfigured channels

Any group or server the bot has joined but not yet linked to a project appears in the **Unconfigured channels** section at the bottom of the Projects page. The bot is inactive in these channels until configured.

Click **Configure** next to any channel to create a new project or add it to an existing one.

## Project status

Each project card shows its current plan and last active date. To change a plan or start a free trial, click **Choose a plan** from the banner at the top of any dashboard page.
