# Insights

> How your community feels, talks and grows: mood, topics, unanswered questions, people of the week, reactions and rhythm.

Insights shows how your community felt and talked over the range you pick. It has two views, **Simple** and **Advanced**. Switch between them at the top of the page.

Pick the range at the top: 24h, 7d, 30d, or **More** for presets like last 14 days, this month, or a custom From and To.

## Simple view

A one-page read of the community, in cards:

| Card | What it shows |
| - | - |
| **Mood** | Mood score from -100 to +100, a one-line read such as "Mostly positive", the change against the previous period and the positive, neutral and negative split |
| **Messages** | Member messages, the change against the previous period and a bar per day |
| **Talking** | How many members spoke up out of everyone in the chat, split into regulars, members who came back and first-timers |
| **Questions** | The share of questions collony AI answered and how fast |
| **Best time to post** | The busiest hour of the period, in UTC |
| **Most loved message** | The message with the most reactions, and who reacted |
| **Favorite emoji** | The most used emoji and the runners-up |
| **Streak** | Days in a row with messages |
| **People of the week** | The most active member, the brightest voice and one to watch (lowest mood) |

### What they talk about

* **Topics**: the share of messages by topic, such as Social, Technical, Question, Swearing and Sarcastic, and which topic moved most
* **Left unanswered**: recent questions nobody answered. Click **Improve answers** to add them to your knowledge base.
* **Busiest channels**: the share of messages per channel

> [!TIP]
>
> Questions that keep showing up under **Left unanswered** are the fastest win. Add the answers to your [Knowledge Base](https://www.collony.ai/docs/bot-setup.md#knowledge-base) and the bot handles them next time.

### Growth

New members who joined, and where members are, split by Telegram and Discord with each platform's share of messages.

## Advanced view

The top of the Advanced view shows mood per day, member messages, reactions, bot answers, removed messages and how many members talked or only reacted. Below it are six tabs.

> [tab] Overview
>
> How busy the community is.
>
> * **Activity timeline**: messages over time, live, with zoom levels from 1h to 30d. Drag across the chart to zoom in. Shaded bands mark [Surge Guard](https://www.collony.ai/docs/surge-guard.md) slow-mode periods.
> * **Daily active members**: members who sent a message and members who only reacted, per day
> * **Questions and the assistant**: the share of questions answered by collony AI, by members or left unanswered, the median answer time and answer time per day

> [tab] Members
